On Oct. 3, 2023, Hamilton RASC had its fifth visit over the past several years, to L3 Harris in Waterdown. And by all accounts it was a big hit. Ed recommended that L3 contact Paul Delaney from York U. as the guest speaker and the 60+ engineers in attendance were quite intrigued with Paul’s presentation about Exoplanets and potential signs of life outside of our Solar System. After Paul’s talk, everyone went outside to view Saturn, Jupiter, the Moon, M57 and Andromeda through the telescopes set up by both RASC members and L3 staff. Ryan Newson (L3) told us that the L3 staff continue to request this outing year after year and truly enjoy our presence, knowledge and passion for Astronomy.
A huge thank you goes to the five Hamilton Centre members who brought their scopes out to entertain those in attendance.
The volunteers were Victor Abraham, John Ceko, Jane Tumbin, Shail Choksi, and Ed Mizzi. Kudos to all involved.
