May Monthly Meeting – May 1 – Jupiter and its moons

Mark Your Calendars – A Night with Jupiter!

Peter Jedicke

We’re thrilled to welcome Peter Jedicke as our guest speaker at next Thursday’s meeting, May 1st, held at St. Matthew’s Church, 126 Plains Road, Burlington. Doors open at 7:30, meeting starts at 8pm.

Peter will be giving what promises to be a lively and fascinating talk about Jupiter and its moons—a topic sure to capture the imagination of astronomy lovers of all ages. Whether you’re a longtime club member or a younger stargazer just beginning your journey, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss. So bring your kids, grandkids, or any curious minds along for an evening of cosmic discovery.

Peter Jedicke is a familiar and well-respected name in the astronomy community. Raised in Niagara Falls and a longtime member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC), Peter has dedicated much of his life to astronomy education and outreach. From hosting a cable TV show called Telescope, to bringing astronomy into classrooms and museums, he’s inspired countless young minds to look up.

During his time with the London Centre of the RASC, Peter served as president, organized major events, earned awards for his science writing, and—perhaps most memorably—entertained generations of members with his original, astronomy-themed songs, performed alongside his friend David Levy.

With a background in physics and decades of experience teaching at Fanshawe College, Peter brings both deep knowledge and contagious enthusiasm to every talk he gives. Don’t miss this chance to hear from someone who not only knows the science—but makes it fun.

The general public is welcome!
