Come view the Night Sky!

The June monthly meeting will be held at the Observatory Grounds.

 Date: Thursday June 5

Time: 8 PM – 11:30pm

Location: RASC Hamilton Observatory

Join us for a special stargazing event open to both members and the general public. Held at our observatory, this gathering is the perfect opportunity to explore the night sky, learn about astronomy, and enjoy a community of like-minded enthusiasts.

Free Admission: Open to all, though donations are greatly appreciated to help maintain the observatory and telescopes.

What to Bring

To ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we recommend bringing:

  • A flashlight (preferably with a red filter to preserve night vision).
  • Bug spray for outdoor comfort.
  • A lawn chair for relaxation.
  • Warm clothing (dress for temperatures about 10°C cooler than forecasted).

Parking Note: If arriving after 8 PM, please park on the road to avoid disrupting observations with headlights.

What to Expect

  • Telescopes Galore: View celestial wonders through our 16-inch telescope and other instruments, including our 36″ Dobsonian!
  • Have your own telescope?  Bring it with you and we’ll show you how to use it.
  • Astronomy Insights: Club members will be on hand to share their knowledge of the night sky and introduce you to the RASC Hamilton Centre.
  • Community Atmosphere: Engage with fellow astronomy enthusiasts in a friendly and educational setting.
