On Sept. 29 four Hamilton Centre members were involved in a great outreach event at a company called WESCAM, in Waterdown. They produce high-tech equipment such as drone and helicopter cameras, really cool stuff.
This is the fourth time the Ham. Ctr. has ben invited to participate in their event. We had a super guest speaker from the U of T, Leo Alcorn, who amazed us with a talk about galaxies and black holes, and some amazing images. We were treated to a pizza dinner and then went out to show their engineers Jupiter, Saturn, the crescent Moon and Andromeda. A total of about 50 people participated.
I wish to thank our volunteers…Marie Fisher, John Ceko and Victor Abraham, who gave up an entire evening to share their knowledge and skills with those in attendance. This was the fourth time we were invited and we hope this continues to be an annual event. We are always looking for outreach volunteers so please let us know if you’re interested, as this year progresses.
