Chris Talpas will be offering a talk on “A history of the telescope from Galileo to the present day.”
Chris says, “As the title suggests, I would like to trace the development of the telescope from its earliest days to the present and near future looking at what were the technical limitations of early designs and how new designs and technologies improved the performance. I will also highlight some important discoveries made by particular instruments. I will also touch upon mount development as well as detector advancement.
