On Thursday, March 3, Hamilton RASC is pleased to have Malcolm Park speak to our club at 8pm. His topic will be remote imaging in Chile.
Malcolm Park is a past-president of the North York Astronomical Association (NYAA) and was also the coordinator of Starfest, Canada’s largest annual Star party and amateur astronomy conference. After retiring in 2014 after over 30 years in the banking industry, Malcolm pursues his passion for astronomy with a backyard observatory north of Kingston ON, and a remote telescope hosted in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.
Malcolm’s images have been published in various publications such as the Toronto Star newspaper, SkyNews, Sky & Telescope and Astronomy magazines, and online websites like Spaceweather.com, Global News, the Weathernetwork.com, and NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). Malcolm has contributed still and timelapse astrophotography to the Oasis channel television series Cosmic Vistas and the INIGO documentary film StarMen.
This virtual meeting is open to all Hamilton RASC members. Please keep an eye open in your email for an invitation. If you are interested in joining Hamilton RASC to have the opportunity to hear great guest speakers like Malcolm, along with many other benefits, please join us!
