Club Activities
Monthly general meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month except for July and August. These meetings are open to the public! We also organize an impressive number of other activities such as educational seminars, public outreach events, as well as group observing sessions throughout the year. Become a Club Member
The Hamilton Centre of the RASC is one of 28 non-profit centres across Canada. Originally founded as the Hamilton Astronomical Society in 1901, and later established as an RASC Centre in 1909, it remains one of the longest standing scientific organizations in the Hamilton region. You will find your membeship in our club to be an entertaining, educational, and rewarding experience. Learn from seasoned astronomers, and share what you've learned with beginners. Our club has received a LX200 8" from an anonymous donor!
We've all heard the "baby in a basket" story. Well, one of our members (Bert) visited the observatory a few weeks ago and found a LX200 telescope in the driveway. It had a note saying that it was being donated.
The hand controller needs some work but the optics are in pristine condition.
Thank You Anonymous! Thursday March 1 - Special Monthly Meeting @ The McCallion Planetarium Our next meeting will be a special evening of "indoor stargazing" at the McCallion Planetarium at McMaster University.
The theater has limited seating so we are going to do 2 shows back-to-back: 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Tickets are only $ 15.00!
The 1st 15 minutes will be devoted to "club business" and then we'll get on with the show.
We still have seats available for both shows (7:00 and 8:30).
